Graduate School Advising

Prof. Connaughton is the graduate school advisor for the Biology Department at Washington College. If you are interested in attending graduate school and would like to discuss the matter, e-mail or call to set up an appointment.

If you are simply looking for some information, there are several options:

Prof. Connaughton has a library of materials incluindg tips on how to apply for graduate school and how to prepare for the GREs

The college has a filing cabinet of materials sent to us by various biology graduate programs which are available for your use. The filing cabinet is located in the hall outside Lab 01 in Dunning/Decker Science Center.

There is a web page of web-based resources about graduate programs; how to search for them, how to apply to programs, or how find individual program web pages, GRE testing information, etc.

 

Biology Careers

If you are interested in finding employment in the biological sciences after graduation instead of, or prior to, attending graduate or professional school, there are also several options:

Prof. Connaughton has a library of biology career literature in his office.

You could make an appointment with the Washington College Center for Career Development to discuss the issue with them, or perhaps start by visiting their web page.

You could visit the biology careers web page for links to sites concerning employment int he biological sciences.
